What is the G-Spot?
The Gräfenberg Spot, often called the G-Spot, is the bean-shaped area of the vagina named after the German gynecologist Ernst Grafenberg. Where is the G-Spot?
The Gräfenberg Spot is typically located one to three inches (2.5 to 7.6 cm) up the front (anterior) vaginal wall between the vaginal opening and the urethra and is a sensitive area that is part of the female prostate.
Although the G-Spot has been studied since the 1940s, not all experts are sure it exists as a separate and distinct structure and some consider it just a part of the vaginal wall or an internal extension of the clitoris.
For many women though, stimulation of the G-Spot can cause intense vaginal orgasms, often resulting in female ejaculation.
How sensitive is the G-Spot?
Sensitivity of the g-spot varies from woman to woman. While most women find it similar to clitoral stimulation in sensation, some women report no additional arrousal from this spot. The most common way to stimulate the g-spot however is by use of a g-spot curved sex toy. Phallus-shapped vibrators and dildos have a curved tip to allow them to easily stimulate the g-spot.
When to Stimulate the G-Spot
There is no right or wrong time to stimulate the g-spot. As part of foreplay, using your hand or tongue or a sex toy to reach this zone such as you would the clitoris can be a great way to warm up your partner.
